At P & J Interiors, we know that details really matter. Every inch of your home can make a difference if you utilise it correctly. When searching for a very ornate accent to your wall and ceiling, cornices are usually the first choice. However, covings can be just as decorative.
While both are used to cover up cracks and imperfections in the plaster of the ceiling or wall, the main difference between cornices and covings is that cornices are usually covered with many ornate details, whereas covings are more plain. Covings are uniform in their profile, consisting of a plain piece of material evenly distributed for the entire length of the wall. Though they are not covered in patterns, the shape of the coving can still be adjusted to your liking, making for an elegant, sophisticated element to your home.
